First graders in Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Kirshner’s classes greeted parents and answered questions this morning at a student-curated, ‘pop-up’ Peaceful Leaders Museum on Prescott’s first floor.
Students studied four peaceful leaders, including Alia Muhammad Baker, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks, and Malala Yousafzai. Then made project boards in small groups focusing on one peaceful leader. Students also drew portraits of their leaders as well as self-portraits because they believe they can be peaceful leaders too!
Thank you Ms. Stewart and Ms. Kirshner for leading this wonderful curriculum for our students and thank you to all the parents who attended the Peaceful Leader Museum this morning to help students show what they know.
