Prescott School Families,
Greetings! I hope you, you family, and your friends are healthy and safe!
This is a very challenging time for us across the globe as well as for us across the Prescott community. We will work together to support each other, collaborate to solve problems, and continue to learn, albeit via distance learning. Together, we can continue to realize Prescott’s mission “to nurture creative minds and caring hearts.”
For student learning through April 20th, we choose the term “distance learning,” because not all learning has to be online. Reading a book, practicing PE, playing a card game involving reasoning and logic, and practicing drawing skills all are learning, too. Learning can take place in many formats.
Over 50 staff joined me today for our first online staff meeting. In the next three days, teachers will have additional instructions that build on the three required learning expectations below. These are flexible, trackable so teachers can follow-up with students, and based on Prescott School’s policies. We need students to continue to learn because they will have to show mastery at some point in time. Teachers may update them as they see what students are capable of.
1. Raz-Kids or independent reading as per your teacher’s instructions
2. IXL or Khan Academy as per your teacher’s instructions
3. Additional learning as assigned by your teacher

Additionally, it is important that you and your children exercise, eat well, and sleep well to keep your immune system strong. Please also look out for and extend help to those over 60 years old while keeping yourself at least 6 feet away.
In the next few days, look for more information from your child(ren)’s teachers. I look forward to connecting with you.
