Dear Prescott families and friends,
Saludos! Greetings! I hope you and yours are healthy and safe!
This Friday, August 21, Prescott will share our extensive Remote Learning plan, which is updated from our June 15 plan. Teachers and staff have prepared schedules, tools, and more.
Counselor Vanessa Acuna won the SEL in Action Awards for Educators for the 2020-21 school year (grant period to end December 31, 2021). The grant funds $7,000 towards the creation of a student-led Peace Keepers program. Ms. Acuna will work with teachers and staff to identify and train middle school students, even during Remote Learning. More information is forthcoming. The NoVo Foundation, Education First and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors are the organizations partnering in this effort to make the SEL in Action Awards and the grantees successful.
Recently, several parents raised the idea of creating family pods to provide a homeschool program during Remote Learning. Due to health and safety concerns, the school is unable to provide support in the coordination of this effort. The school will share additional resources with all families and alternative childcare options as we receive them.
The Chicago Children’s Choir at Prescott will continue during Remote Learning. More information is forthcoming.
